WHISPER
4-5 yo Blue-eyed White Persian. Front paw declaw

Have you ever heard something about "the cat's pajamas"? We've never really known what that means, but when you see pictures of Whisper you sort of think of that saying. It's really his own fur, but he always looks like he's wearing pajamas and just tottered out of bed. His fur tends to grow long on his legs and maybe that's what contributes to it.
Whatever .. it's really cute."

Whisper has ice blue eyes, and a super flat face. His little tongue sticks out and he snuffles when he breathes. Yup! He's the perfect Persian! Probably even show quality in his day. In some of his pictures he looks a little bedraggled, but they were SO cute of his face that we had to show them. He looks almost like a street urchin. Whisper has a
huge full coat when it's grown out, but for now his foster mom says he's really enjoying his summer "Lion Cut". He was pretty darned matted when we got him, and he's only 1/2 grown out in the pictures with the hair. The Lion Cut came later.

Typical of the white Persians, Whisper's face needs to be washed daily for the regular eye drainage. It's a normal part of being a Persian. Their little faces are so flat so the eyes don't drain into the nose like other mammals, instead they will often drain onto their faces causing some staining. With the whites it's just a bit more noticeable. As you can see, his foster mom does a great job of keeping him clean.
Just once or twice a day with a nice warm damp paper towel and his face stays clean and his eyes are healthy.

If you take a look at Whisper's photos, you can see that his face stays a bit cleaner when he's in his lion cut. That's because the flatter faced Persians dip their faces completely in the water dish when they drink. Duh! They don't have a nose so that flat little face almost
completely submerges when they have to drink. That causes "wicking", the water gets pulled up into the fur around the face. Our name for cats like this is "wet kitties" because they often look like they've just had a bath. By keeping the hair around his face cut shorter, he doesn't get as wet and stained.

Whisper is a nice gentle little companion. He will follow through out the house, sit beside you, and if allowed he'll even sleep with you. He's very quiet. The nice thing about this guy is that he's affectionate without being obnoxious about it. For example, he will sleep with you,
but stays down by your back or tummy not wrapped around your face smothering you while you sleep. He seems to enjoy a sunny spot in the window and during the winter appreciates an electric heating pad or
other warm spot.

Whisper has been introduced to dogs, and he's used to other cats. We think he'd be best in a quiet home, and would even do well as an only cat. Thanks to a generous donor, Whisper has had a recent complete blood
panel. His blood work showed him to be in great health.
