OBERON
4-6 yo Lilac Point Ragdoll

He is a beautiful cat with gorgeous blue eyes but the characteristic that makes this cat most special is his loving nature. He is an affectionate lap cat. If you don't want to be cuddling your cat often don't choose him. He is a lover.

In the shelter they adored him and tried hard to help him find a home. Unfortunately, he had a "mild" cold and every time they put him out in the adoption area he sneezed a little and they had to take him back to isolation. This happened several times. I think the stresses of being in a shelter weakened his immune system and he just couldn't beat his cold. It was almost his undoing. After six weeks—a very long time in a shelter—they knew they couldn't keep him any longer; they had to give his space to another kitty for his or her chance at survival. I got him on his last morning.

So far he hasn't sneezed once at his foster home. Instead he calls us to come see him and love him up. He seems to be cat friendly though his overriding interest is in humans. He also would probably be all right with gentle children. What he really wants is a lap to sleep on, a human to care for. This is not a cat for someone who works all day and is home only at night. Anyone perhaps older and retired, or recovering from an illness, or with a bedridden housemate or just someone home a lot who wants a loving companion would be perfect for this kitty. Perhaps someone who works—not too hard—at home. I can imagine him as the mascot of a nursing home taking care of everyone. Quite an extraordinary cat.

His soft "lilac" coloring goes perfectly with his cornflower blue eyes. His four white mitted feet are matched. We wondered if he were a Birman but his long body is more typical of the Ragdolls. He also has the gentle Ragdoll nature.

Oberon LOVES wet food and will also eat dry. Probably he needs to gain a pound or so. Litterbox perfect of course.

He is a wonderful package of beauty and love.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
