Poor Kira! She was in very poor condition when she came to us. She and five other cats all came in together when their elderly caretakers could no longer keep up with the grooming, feeding, and general needs of these high maintenance cats. Kira was encased in mats and had fleas crawling all over her. You can view a video of her being shaved here:

We're used to heavily matted cats, but this was even worse. All over Kira's hindquarters there were clumps of poop matted into the hair. It was hanging all over her back end. We were shaving through feces matted into feces when we got her back end shaved down. No wonder she smelled so bad! She also had some of her toes grown into the toe pads. We did our best, but we'd like to thank Charlene from Fo Paws Grooming Parlor in Davis, CA. She came in while Kira was sedated for her spay and finished up the grooming for us. Whew!

Kira is now living in a nice clean foster home and loving life. She is blossoming a bit more every day but is a very shy kitty that will do best in a quiet adult only home, she does love to be loved upon but it needs to be on her terms when she asks for it. She can be a bit aggressive with some other kitties, she likes to try to intimidate them, if they stand up to her she leaves them alone but if they are submissive she likes to chase them. This beauty really deserves a home of her own where she can continue to blossom.
