Grayson came to us because his owner lost his home.We are told that
Grayson is a purebred Maine Coon. He weighs between 17-18 lbs and he's
not a fat cat. He has the head structure and the elongated body, with
tufting in his toes. Add to that his beautiful coat, piercing green
eyes, and his little chirping voice and he's got all of the attributes
required to fit the breed description.
Having Grayson around is like having a dog. He just follows you
everywhere, and sometimes chats with you in his little chirpy voice.
He's not aggressively affectionate which is probably best with a cat
this big. While we don't mind having a small Abyssinean jump on our
shoulder, a 17 lb Maine Coon can be a bit of a surprise. So, he just
keeps with the dog-like personality expected of the breed and knows
we're thrilled to have him.
Grayson is used to the dogs in his foster home. At this time he's not
thrilled enough with them to want to be buddies, but within 48 hours of
introduction he was just giving them the Evil Eye when they walk by and
not getting too upset by them. He is also NOT being aggressive with the
small dog in his foster home. That one is a bit of a pest, but Grayson
hisses if he gets too near and the dog wanders off.
Grayson is getting used to the other cats, but is going to be most happy
as an only cat. Poor guy, he got chased around the room by a 5 lb
Persian female on his first day of free roaming time. He'll be fine with
other cat as long as none are aggressive, and would also thrive as an
only cat.
Don't let this clinical description stop you from falling madly in love
with the cat. He has a unique and charming personality and is an
absolute love.
Grayson will be fostered in Sacramento.
