BILLIE
5-8 yo Shaded Siver Persian
My veterinary care has been sponsored.
Thank you, marjorie! I'm a breast cancer survovor.
Billie came to us from Oregon along with 4 other shaded silver Persians. We believe she is the mom to the other cats. She was solid mats when she got here, and quite neglected overall. We had to get a professional lion cut because we couldn't even come close to getting all of the mats off. A great lady came along and adopted Billie and one of her daughters. Sadly, Billie didn't get along with the other cats in the home, even her own daughter. Then we found out that Billie had mammary tumors and an ulcer on her left eye. The cost of having a surgery done was high, and it was a risky surgery. Her vet asked if she'd like to euthanize the cat.
Thankfully, Billie's adopter made the decision that it was best for her to come back to Rescue rather than allowing some schmuck vet euthanize the cat. We took Billie to another vet who waived 90% of the normal costs of such a procedure, and "adoptive mom" made a generous donation to cover the rest of her costs. Billie was also treated by Animal Eye Care in Rocklin and we now have a clean bill of health for her eyes. (Once again, thanks to "adoptive mom's generous donations".) We are SO very grateful to these kind people who helped saved Billie. She is now happy and healthy and once again looking for a forever home.
Billie will need to be an only pet in an adults-only quiet home. In her current foster home she does coexist with other cats but they have learned that she needs her space and they leave her alone. She is shy when first approached and it will take a patient person to believe in Billie and give her time to show her truly sweet personality. She's been through so much, we are just praying the right home sees this and gives her a chance. We would also welcome a foster parent who would like to take on one cat at a time such as Billie so that she can get lots of socialization during her remaining time in Rescue.
Billie is fostered in the Greater Sacramento Area.
