Cat #4. For years he's lived in a 3-5 cage with only one level of space. No climbing post, no scratching post, just a flat floor with a litter box and a cardboard box. They called him Box Boy because he never came out of the box. He just laid in there and they said he always looked depressed. Although we weren't planning on taking him so soon, with so many other cats in need, our hearts just went out to him the last time we were up there. We're SO glad we got him out. This cat was in terrible pain. His toenails on all four feet had grown around his feet and back into his toepads. He was in such pain that we couldn't even trim them ourselves. He had to be sedated and had them surgically trimmed.
